Fewer tools, more use
The history of humans is one where we continuously get more and more leverage and choices with our time and energy, which are two truly finite resources. Tools have been a major driver of leverage. People will often debate what is a tool/process/framework. That is a grammar debate and not one that has any utility in real life. The spear helped us hunt more animals and bigger animals. The car helped us travel farther and live where we want. Money helps us store the value we add to society and use it to get various goods and services. Remote work lets us live a life with more choices.
For most of human history, tools were scarce, and therefore you took as many as you could. Over the past ~20 years, we have had an explosion of tools, and for the first time, humans need to "pick" which tools they use. (This is not entirely true: even ~2,000 years ago, there were probably 500 types of spears, and an army had to pick which spear suited it, but there was probably only one way to cook meat, so humans didn't have much of a choice.) And so there are tools to pick tools. It's easy to fool yourself into spending time on the "tools to pick tools to do the thing" rather than doing the thing. Hence the title: FEWER TOOLS, more use, not MORE TOOLS, less use.
