Happy birthday to me!

Today is my 36th birthday. Happy birthday to me! Physically, I am (near) the best shape of my life, though there is a long way to go. Mentally, I feel like I have just turned 30, so a long way to go there too. Samay is here too, to celebrate, which I love. Every morning he wakes up and gives me a wide smile as soon as he spots me. He makes me feel like every day is my birthday.

Why do financial services companies—especially mutual funds—send "Happy birthday" emails and text messages? Because you are much more likely to review and reflect on your financial position, reallocate money, or invest a lump sum of money on your birthday as a "gift" to yourself. They wish you because it's just good sales practice.
